Hi and welcome to Tiny Trailer Trips, a blog with several short stories about our travels where we explore small towns to big cities, eat and (sometimes) review popular regional cuisine, provide travel tips and advice, product reviews and recommendations, and enjoy local activities through an excursionist’s lens.
Our travel journey began in 2017 when we often took “tiny” trips in our tiny 10-foot wooden teardrop travel trailer. Our trips were typically at campgrounds within a 3-to-4-hour drive from our home in the San Francisco Bay Area. The goal of each trip was to explore the nearby historic downtown area, enjoy a popular restaurant or two, discover unique retail stores, visit wineries and breweries, and enjoy a day hiking or kayaking. After nearly 5 years of perfecting the “tiny trip”, we decided it was time to make a bold move and give the nomad life a try. In April of 2022, we quit our jobs, sold most of our possessions, and set out on an 8.5-month cross country trip in our 1965 vintage Airstream Globetrotter. During this journey, we discovered that this is something we could do full time and we’ve decided to do it all over again, so in April 2023, we decided to embark on another journey across the country and landed in Searsport Maine where we enjoyed a summer work-camping job at a beautiful family owned campground from May to October.
Follow along as we post more fun stories about our travels on this blog, Instagram, and TikTok pages as well.
