CamelBak Hydrobak Hydration Pack: Why carry around heavy water bottles on your hikes when you can pack it on your back??  The CamelBak Hydrobak is just as essential as water on a hike – don’t leave home without it!

Osprey Aether 65 Men’s Backpacking BackpackThis Osprey backpack was an essential travel piece of equipment for our 10-week trip to Southeast Asia. It’s incredibly comfortable and with the right Tetris skills, you can fit a couple weeks worth of clothes and shoes.  Perfect size, weight, and storage capacity for an urban overseas trek or a wilderness backpacking adventure.

Nemo Helio Portable Pressure Shower: This is by far one of our most used items on our trips, especially when there are no showers at the campground.  It is eco friendly and heats up the water with the power of the sun.  It’s perfect for rinsing dishes and provides a nice warm shower at the end of the day.  Unless you like cold showers, it’s best to use the Helio for showering in the summer months when you have access to direct sunlight for most of the day.  For faster results, you can boil water and pour it in (recommend using a funnel). Either way, the Helio has been a great addition to our camping utilities.

Vidalido Outdoor Shower Tent Changing Room: This pairs nicely with the Helio Portable Pressure Shower and is also great for either storing our clothes and is a perfect changing room as we can exactly stand up in the teardrop 🙂

Aquaglide Chelan HB Tandem XL Inflatable KayakThe Aquaglide is the envy of all inflatable kayaks.  Being that we have an incredible need for space with a tiny teardrop in tow, this inflatable 3 person (or 2 person and a dog) kayak was the perfect addition to enhance our outdoor activities. Once Sato started getting more comfortable on the water, we have been going out in this kayak more and more often.  It weighs about 50lbs and folds up into a backpack for easy storage and carrying. We carry a foot pump along and it takes about 10 minutes to inflate. Made of super durable materials and like the name it literally glides across the water.   Highly recommend if you are looking for a reliable inflatable kayak.

Jackery Portable Power Station Explorer 240:  This nifty little power station keeps our electronics powered all weekend.  We do have a battery in the teardrop but we try not to drain it down especially if we are going to be on an extended trip of 5+ days.  We learned the hard way when our battery died and we didn’t have any hookups.  The Jackery is great for powering phones, laptops, speakers and even our chargeable flashlight. Don’t expect it to power your blender for margaritas  – we tried :-).  It worked relatively well, but there just isn’t enough output for an appliance like that.  For everything else, it works like a champ.  We even added the solar panel charger to keep the Jackery powered up throughout each trip.

Grizzly or Yeti, Yeti or Grizzly?: Well actually it’s pretty much the same product with the same effectiveness in keeping your food cold.  We happen to have a lot of Yeti products in our stash, but we went with the Grizzly cooler as the dimensions fit in our teardrop better.  At the end of the day the functionality is the same it just comes down to cost and brand name that you prefer. And they both do an awesome job of keeping the food cold for days on end.  You can buy special ice packs for them but we use one of the gel ice packs we get from our weekly food delivery service and they stay frozen for at least a week in the cooler – very impressive.

Yeti Mugs: Here is a nod to the very well made and insulated Yeti products.  We absolutely love our Yeti coffee mugs.  The last sip is as warm as the first, that’s how great these mugs work.  High quality product from a respectable company. If you don’t have Yeti products in your camping supplies, you are missing out.

Lodge Cast Iron Dutch OvenWhen it comes to camp fire cooking there is honestly no better item in your camp kitchen than the Lodge cast iron dutch oven.  We have made so many amazing meals in our dutch oven over a hot wood burning fire and hot coals as well.  Coals are a much more efficient way to cook however as there are many recipes that call for putting coals on the lid for a heat source on top which really makes it cook like an oven.  If we had to choose only one item to cook with, it would be a cast iron dutch oven for sure.

Camp Chef Everest Camp StoveWhen we are not cooking in the cast iron dutch oven, we fire up our Camp Chef stove for just about everything else from heating water for coffee to scrambling up eggs.  This camp stove has been a staple for just about every camper in the world and no kitchen is complete without it.
