We are Gen Xers, Kandace & Justin and this is our story…..

Kandace owned a hair studio in Northern California for 22 years. She is an avid traveler and has been to 23 countries so far. She loves painting, cooking, gardening and camping with Justin and our dog Sato.

Justin spent most of his career as a sales executive for a large online media company and is an accomplished photographer who enjoys cooking, playing basketball, softball, traveling and yes….camping (of course with Kandace and Sato).

After meeting online…. (yep, it really works!), Kandace brought up her desire to own a teardrop trailer, which was the perfect way to combine her love of adventure with Justin’s love of nature photography.

The first step was to rent one and give it try. We loved it! We found a builder online and “Edie” the tiny, wooden, teardrop was built! With extra foot room that would accommodate Sato, Kandace’s 70lb very handsome 5yr old mutt. After two and a half “seasons” in the teardrop, they decided to go a tiny bit bigger and traded “Edie” for a vintage 1986 U-Haul Camper and changed their name to Tiny Trailer Trips! After a year with the U-Haul they started putting their plan into motion to embark on a 9 month trip across the United States, purchased a 1965 vintage Airstream Globetrotter, fixed her up and named her Olive.  Then they did what they have been dreaming about for the past several years…..  Kandace sold her house and her business, Justin resigned from his career in media sales and they hit the road in April 2022…  no jobs, no home….  just a truck, a trailer and the open road….follow along to see how the journey unfolds.
